Eel-Minnows are very effective for striped bass and large pike.
The hooks used are designed for large fish and to resist saltwater (Mustad big game salt water). They have a considerable length, making it easier for fish to catch the hook rather than biting behind it.
After discussion and observation, Eel-Minnows 8.5 (1 1/2oz head included) will now be sold pre-assembled (lure glued to the head).
The reason is simple: they are very durable. They withstand a very large number of striped bass caught; in the vast majority of cases, the line breaks before having to replace the soft lure.
